Junior faculty and PhD get-together
For the sixth consecutive year, the EABIS PhD Conference will bring together doctoral candidates from across Europe and beyond to share their research experience, their findings, and the challenges they face in their studies on corporate responsibility.
The EABIS PhD Conference is an outstanding opportunity for PhD students to:
- Explore research questions, methodologies and thematic issues around corporate responsibility and the role of business in society
- Benefit from one to one interaction and feedback from senior professors, leading researchers and business representatives
- Gain insights from Editors of renowned journals on practical approaches to publishing doctoral work
- Network with peers from around Europe and beyond
In line with the theme of the 7th Annual EABIS Colloquium – “Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability: Leadership and Organisational Change” – the focus this year will be on leadership and organisational change as key corporate responsibility and sustainability drivers. Please note however, that we welcome contributions from any doctoral candidates pursuing work around corporate responsibility issues.
In keeping with previous years, EABIS, Ashridge and Cranfield, are committed to delivering an event with high added value to its participants, through the quality of insight provided by senior academics, as well as the practical tools and approaches generated by in-depth discussion of doctoral work.

Junior faculty and PhD get-together
In order to facilitate knowledge exchange and networking among junior faculty members and PhD students, Cranfield's Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility will host two events during the EABIS colloquium. On Thursday, 11th September 2008, we meet for lunch. The lunch will help to get to know each other and to present your specific research background and interest. If you are interested in sharing your research please get in touch with Heiko Spitzeck (heiko.spitzeck@cranfield.ac.uk) and submit a short abstract (4-6 lines). On Friday, 12th September 2008, we will organise a BBQ for a social finish to the EABIS Colloquium and a warm-up to the PhD conference at Ashridge on Saturday, 13th of September 2008. For those participating at the Colloquium and the PhD Conference transportation is organised between Cranfield and Ashridge.
